Long-format brick slips
Redefining facade aesthetics
With the LF40 format (468 x 40 mm), TONWERK offers an exclusive brick-slip that sets new standards in facade design. As the only German manufacturer of ceramic brick slips in this exceptional size, we are redefining possibilities for bespoke architectural concepts — especially for architects and planners seeking clear lines and a premium look and feel.
The unique proportions of the LF40 — with its narrow height of around 40 mm and above-average length of 468 mm — give any facade a calm, linear structure. The horizontal alignment is accentuated, creating an overall impression that is generous, expansive and elegant. These clean lines create a modern, timeless aesthetic, equally suitable for new buildings as well as the stylish renovation of existing structures.
Whether for large-scale projects or sensitive detail planning in an urban context, the LF40 format delivers visual lightness without sacrificing materiality or expressive impact. The ceramic quality of the surface emphasizes architectural sophistication and ensures a consistently high-end appearance — weather-resistant, dimensionally stable and available in numerous colour variations.
Architectural culture in new proportions
LF40 Long Format
It is not only the legendary Kolumba™ series by Petersen Tegl that captivates with its exceptionally long brick formats. Tonwerk Klinker also offers with its Kontor#1 series a long format that redefines space and architecture.
Available in several exclusive colours
With their slim format of approx. 468 x 40 mm, Kontor#1 thin bricks give any façade an elegant horizontal emphasis, highlighting the clean lines of contemporary architecture. Inspired by historic Roman brick formats and manufactured using innovative production techniques with Westerwald clay, they uniquely combine tradition and modernity.
LF40. When architecture needs character.
Each brick is produced with the highest precision, controlled surfaces, and vibrant colour variations. Thanks to their low water absorption of less than 3%, LF40 thin bricks are perfectly suited for use on all external thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS) and solid façades. This makes them not only an aesthetic but also a durable architectural element.
Kolumba™ is a trademark of Petersen Tegl. The reference is for comparison purposes only.
With the LF40, Tonwerk expands the creative possibilities of facade design. Planners get to take advantage of a format that impresses not only with its aesthetics, but also with its well-considered technical features — compatible with all common external thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS) and ideal for durable, low-maintenance facade solutions.
Long-format architecture means: More room for ideas, greater visual impact — with brick-slips from Tonwerk.
Tonwerk brick-slips – Variety in formats and bond patterns
With formats such as DF (thin format), NF (standard format), LDF (long thin format), and the exclusive LF40 long format (468 × 40 × 10 mm), Tonwerk offers architects and planners maximum creative freedom.
Due to a wide range of bond patterns — such as random bond or stretcher bond — Tonwerk brick-slips can be installed in various rhythms: calm and uniform, dynamically structured, or minimalist. Custom corner angles and special parts are available upon request.
