Tonwerk stands for brick slips that combine quality, design and durability. As a manufacturer based in the Westerwald region, we combine more than 100 years of experience with modern production processes and systematic energy management.
We also consider the raw materials, energy and materials used throughout our production processes. Environmental information for our products is available in the form of Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs). Our energy management system is certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 50001:2018.

Building the Future with TONWERK
Regional Raw Materials
We use clay from the Westerwald region to manufacture our brick slips. The regional sourcing of selected raw materials is part of our production and contributes to short transport distances between the clay pits and our production site.
Energy Management
Our energy management system is certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 50001:2018. This enables us to systematically monitor and manage our energy use and provides a basis for the continuous development of our energy management system.
Products with Documented Environmental Information
Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) issued by the German Association of Ceramic Tiles (Bundesverband Keramische Fliesen e. V., BKF) are available for our products. They provide verified environmental information for the respective products and support architects, planners and clients in assessing products based on documented data.
Developed for a Wide Range of Applications
Brick slips combine functionality and durability. Their resistance to weathering and mechanical stress makes them suitable for use on façades and in interior spaces – from classic to contemporary architectural concepts.
Recycling and Material Recovery
The handling of materials after use is also part of a responsible approach to products. Depending on their application and processing, brick materials can, for example, be used as recycled material in construction and road building after dismantling.
Packaging and Recycling
For the collection and recovery of packaging, we work with specialised partners, including Interzero and Der Grüne Punkt. Packaging quantities are documented and directed to appropriate recovery processes.
Information Instead of Generalised Claims
We aim to communicate environmental information in a transparent and verifiable way. To do so, we refer to selected documentation relating to our energy management and the environmental information available for our products. This provides customers, architects and planners with concrete information that they can consider when making product decisions.
